Germany just reformed its heating subsidies — here's what changed
Germany's BEG heating grant was reformed on 21 July 2026. The 30% base grant survives, but the boiler-replacement bonus falls from 20% to 16% and steps down every six months to zero by August 2028, while the eligible-cost ceiling drops to €28,000. Low-income households gain from a restructured income bonus; everyone else now pays for waiting.
